Elena C. Tesoro
Elena describes herself as a late bloomer, but bloomed, she had. One of the very few PhDs in our batch ’70, she chose a career in Social Development at the Philippine Women’s University, which became her tool to assist aspiring social workers to pass their licensure examination through her AEK Enterprise (Review Center) where she is Proprietor/Executive Director from 2016 up to the present.
She is still the Chairperson of the Graduate School of DHVSU Graduate School (Master of Science in Social Work Dept.). Elena completed her MS in Social Work (International Relations in Diplomacy), and holds an MBA degree. Her undergraduate was in A.B. Math (Minor in English), and B.S. in Social Work – all from PWU.
She continues to be member/affiliated with several organizations, basically relating to Social Welfare and Development. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Journal of Social Welfare Research and Development, President of PASWI Pampanga, etc.
It was through her various efforts in the area of social welfare that she was was selected Global 100: Most Influential Filipina Women in the World during the Summit in Lisbon, Portugal in 2022 by the Filipina Women’s Network based in San Francisco, USA.
