Edgardo G. Puno

Ed stands out among the JASHS’70 alumni in that he may be the sole political figure in the batch, who has made it in this field.

After his graduation from the University of the East in 1974, B.S. in Management, he has devoted substantial part of his career in public service, having been elected Councilor of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga (1988-1992; 1992-1988), Director of the Provincial Board Members Association of the Philippines (1992-1996), elected No. 1 Provincial Board Member, 4th District of Pampanga (1992-1995), and then re-elected again (1995-1998). He chaired the Committee on Trade and Commerce of Sangguniang Panlalawigan and the Committee on Environment Protection and Natural Resources, and the Committee on Appropriation.

His efforts at doing public service have been rewarded with various awards and recognition: Outstanding Provincial Board Member, Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines; Outstanding Pampanga Provincial Board Member; Plaques of Appreciation from Rotary Club, Dolores and Kiwanis Club of Sto. Tomas; Kaunlaran Award, Phil. Media Practitioners Asso. of the Phil.; Mapagbigay Award, Community Charity Leadership Foundation, Inc.; Outstanding Personality of the Year, Media Writers Asso. of the Phil.; Kapatiran Award, as Outstanding Businessman and Civic Leader; Golden Leadership Humanitarian Award; Most Outstanding JAYCEES, Davao City and Cagayan, Isabela Chapters; Outstanding Committee Chairman , San Fernando Cabalen JAYCEES where he was also one time Director.

Ed is engaged in the restaurant and equipment rental business.
